Every year we get the grandest of parents to get us season passes for the kids. It saves us on clean up and something to do without the huge cost. This year we got season passes to the Texas Discovery Garden in Fair Park.
So Amazing!

They have a two story butterfly house where you can watch hundreds of butterflies flutter about in the open. Hosting a daily butterfly release at 12pm with a good kid friendly chat about their life cycle and other facts.
Going into the vast acres of gardens and fountains there is an awesome, mostly shaded spot for kids, big and little, to climb around on the jungle gym. It features a tunnel and sand pit too. Made with authentic wood (as far as I can tell). Lined with pic nick tables for easy lunching.
Last, with a membership you have the opportunity to get into 300+ gardens all across the nation. 6 tickets to the Texas State Fair. Multiple on site discounts for plants, gifts, and invites to member events.

It is a wonderful place to visit and spend a Saturday or Wednesday. Share your stories of the Texas Discovery Gardens with me in the comments below!
